History of the Bux family

Further information

Muslims in Australia

Khwaja Mohamed Bux settled in Western Australia in the late nineteenth century. This research explores the history of the Bux family.

While Muslims in Perth and Western Australia have a long history, their presence and links to the state have not been fully explored. The Bux family, living in Perth, is an example of the continuing connection between Muslim families and Australia and, more specifically, Northbridge.

The research has been funded through a grant from friends and descendants of Khwaja Mohamed Bux.
