Pakistan's political history includes several crises, which have affected the evolution of political culture, the development of democratic norms and the respect for human and women's rights. This seminar will provide the current picture of women's political participation particularly at the local level, as well as some focused analysis of the real challenges being faced by the fairly large number of women who have today entered the formal political and legislative arenas in the country.

Ms. Shaheen Khan on her successful completion of her Endeavour Pakistan Executive Award at CMSS - UWA, will deliver a seminar on Women and Governance Reforms in Pakistan - Issues and Challenges. She has been researching, working and speaking extensively on women rights in Pakistan and abroad. Ms. Khan possesses significant professional experience of working for various development organizations. Ms. Khan has been awarded number of national and international scholarships on her outstanding academic and professional record.
