The Centre for Muslim States and Societies and Australian
Friends of Palestine Association (WA) will be co-hosting Ms Kim
Bullimore to discuss her recent experiences in the Middle
East.
Kim is a Murri activist from north Queensland and has been
involved in anti-racism, women's liberation and international
solidarity campaigns. She has written and spoken on a range of
issues including women's rights and indigenous issues, as well as
Palestine.
In 2004 and 2007, she worked in Occupied Palestinian
Territories with international human rights group The
International Women's Peace Service. IWPS is an international
team of women based in Haris village in the Salfit Governate of
the Occupied West Bank. They provide international accompaniment
to Palestinian civilians, while also documenting and
non-violently intervening to stop human rights abuses. IWPS
supports acts of nonviolent resistance to end the Israeli
military Occupation and oppose the Apartheid Wall.
Kim writes regularly on Palestine-Israel issues for Green Left
Weekly and her work has been published by The Palestine Chronicle
and other international publications
In addition to her work with IWPS, Kim has also worked with
the Democracy and Workers Rights Centre in Palestine from mid
2007 until December 2007.
