CMSS Member , Dr Greg Acciaioli Coordinating Panel at the 5th International Symposium of Jurnal Antropologi Indonesia

The 5th International Symposium of Jurnal Antropologi Indonesia to be held 22- 26 July, 2008 will focus on the following theme: “The Future of Indonesia: Sustainable Development and Local Initiatives in the Post Capitalist Era.”

The Symposium, to be held at the University of Lambung Mangkurat Campus (Indonesia) will bring a range of academics together to discuss the future direction of Indonesia in a post capitalist society.

The Symposium will be organized according to a series of panels that will encompass a wide range of issues looking at migration, economy, politics, religion, popular culture and social life as well as social movements.

CMSS Member Dr Greg Acciaioli from the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at University of Western Australia, will be coordinating one of the Panels titled, “The Politics of Islam in Outer Indonesia”.
