How India Looks at the World Today and it's Own Place in the Emerging World Order

Vijay Kumar presented an analysis of the current world order and an alignment of India's foreign and economic policies and view of its future in the evolving landscape of International Relations. His speech touched on India’s relationship with the US, China and Australia, as well as its growing international profile.

Vijay Kumar is a former Indian Career Diplomat with 38 years of service, retired recently as Secretary to the Government of Indian, Ministry of External Affairs. Amongst key roles, he has served as India's High Commissioner in Mauritius (2001-2003), Counsel General of India to Australia (1995-2001) with concurrent charge as Ambassador to Fiji, (1995-1998). He has also served in Indian Missions in Washington, Islamabad, London and Paris and was a key organiser and facilitator of both the Non Aligned Summit and Commonwealth Heads of Governments meetings in India.
