Dr Aneela Babar

Dr Aneela Z Babar is Coordinator of the Masters of Asian Studies at  Monash University and the Treasurer of the South Asian Studies Association of Australia. Her published research spans several diverse areas including gender, militarism, transnationalism, diaspora and religion, and development issues. She was the 2007 Endeavour Research Fellow at the Monash Asia Institute conducting a research project “Collective Action Amongst Pashtun Communities”.

Dr Babar's presentation at the Countering Militancy in Pakistan: Domestic, Regional and International Dimensions Conference was, The Eight Year Old Insurgent: How hybrid seminaries are ushering Pakistan's Islamic Revolution.
