Kate Riddell

Kate Riddell has just completed her PhD in the Department of Political Science and International Relations. Her research concerns the involvement of Islamic agents in the population debates of Pakistan and Iran, with specific interest in debates regarding the population-security nexus. Her research has taken her to Pakistan and Iran, where she has interviewed representatives from government, non-government and religious organisations who are involved in different aspects of population debates, programs and policy planning. She has presented and published several papers on the international population debate, with others currently under consideration by several key journals in security and South Asian studies. Throughout her candidature, she has taught undergraduate courses in Political Science and International Relations at UWA, including Islam and World Politics. She has recently returned to complete her thesis, after taking a year off on maternity leave.
