Carol Kaplanian Carol is currently working on her PhD. through the Centre from Muslim States and Societies and the School of Social Work and Social Policy.
She has completed her Bachelor of Social Work and Masters in Social Work and Counselling (Curtin).
Her Masters degree dealt with the relationship between client and counsellor in cross- cultiural counselling. Her PhD is based on a comparative study between Jordan and Pakistan in regards to honour killings and violence against women.
She has spent time in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan and was exposed to women's issues, and abuse. Among these issues were rape, domestic violence and honour killings.
She has also worked as a trauma counsellor at ASETTS (Association for Assisting Torture and Trauma Survivors) with refugees who suffered torture and trauma.
She has been a member of INJAZ in Jordan which stands for achievement, empowering young refugees to achieve their goals and ambitions.
