Visiting Research FellowsThe Centre welcomes international and national scholars, including early career researchers to apply for affiliation with the Centre as Visiting Fellows. It provides a peaceful and friendly environment for research. Interested scholars may wish to apply for funding through Endeavour Australia if their country of origin is listed as a participant in the scheme. The Centre also offers fellowships for Visiting Scholars interested in conducting research that falls within the priority areas of research of the CMSS which are:
The Centre calls for applications but interested applicants can send proposals throughout the year to the Director of the CMSS. Please see the CMSS Fellowship Guidelines to assist you in submitting your application. 2009 CMSS Visiting Fellowships - Applications are now closed for the 2009 CMSS Visiting Fellowship. Successful Candidates will be notified in the near future. Past Visiting FellowsMs Shaheem Khan Shaheen was affiliated with the Centre for Muslim States and Societies from July to October 2007. She was the University of Western Australia's first visiting research fellow who was also a receipient of the prestigious Endeavour Pakistan Executive Award. On her successful completion at CMSS - UWA, she delivered a seminar on Women and Governance Reforms in Pakistan - Issues and Challenges. She has been researching, working and speaking extensively on women rights in Pakistan and abroad. Ms. Khan possesses significant professional experience of working for various development organizations. Ms. Khan has been awarded number of national and international scholarships on her outstanding academic and professional record. Internships @ CMSSThe CMSS welcomes applications from interested youth to work as an intern. During their stay they assist scholars affiliated with the Centre in their research projects, help organise events and learn techniques of conducting qualitative interviews. They are encouraged to produce publishable material in collaboration with senior members affiliated with the CMSS. Students enrolled at the UWA may apply for the scheme through the BA Arts Practicum. |
